Terms of Service

Last updated · September 22, 2026

Summary:

  • Party Lore Role-play is a teaching tool for courses
  • If you are under 18, use it only through a course at your school or college
  • Be respectful to other participants and to the AI facilitator
  • What you write stays yours; we use it only to run the service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Party Lore Role-play at edu.partylore.com, including launches from a learning management system (LMS). "We" means Partylore Co. By using Party Lore Role-play, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who can use it

  • Instructors may use Party Lore Role-play to prepare, assign and try activities for their courses.
  • Students may use it for courses that assign it. If you are under 18, you may use it only through a course at your institution, with that institution's permission.
  • Anyone may try an activity without an account, to see how it works.
  • You must not use it if the law prohibits you from doing so, or if we have removed your access before.

2. What Party Lore Role-play is

Party Lore Role-play gives each student a role in an authored scenario. The student writes what their character does, and an AI facilitator writes how the situation responds. Each scenario is divided into beats, and each beat has written objectives.

The AI facilitator can make mistakes. Its writing is not professional, medical, legal or financial advice, even when a scenario is set in one of those fields. Party Lore Role-play does not replace an instructor's judgment, and it is not a way to get emergency or mental-health help.

The service is in beta. Features can change, and it can be unavailable at times.

3. Accounts

  • You can reach Party Lore Role-play from your LMS, or sign in with email and password, Google or Discord.
  • Give accurate information, and keep your sign-in details secure.
  • You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has used it.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Harass, threaten or demean other participants
  • Write sexually explicit, hateful or illegal content
  • Try to make the AI facilitator produce harmful content, or to extract its instructions
  • Impersonate another person, or use someone else's account
  • Use automated tools to access the service
  • Interfere with the service, or try to reverse engineer it

Your instructor's course rules also apply. We may remove content or suspend access that breaks these Terms, and we may tell your institution when we do.

5. Your content

  • What you write is yours. You give us a licence to store, process and display it only to run the service for you, your group and your course.
  • Your group sees it. People in the same group attempt see what you write in that attempt.
  • The scenarios, and the AI facilitator's writing, belong to Partylore Co. You may use them for your course.

6. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights. It is part of these Terms.

7. Intellectual property

We own the Party Lore name, logos, scenarios, software and artwork. We give you a limited, non-transferable licence to use Party Lore Role-play for teaching and learning. You may not copy, resell or build a competing product from it.

8. Changes and ending the service

  • We may change or stop features. If we stop the service, we will tell account holders and institutions in advance, and help institutions retrieve their data.
  • You can stop using Party Lore Role-play at any time, and ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy).
  • We may suspend or end access that breaks these Terms.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PARTY LORE ROLE-PLAY IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. PARTYLORE CO. IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST DATA OR SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR $100 IF YOU PAID NOTHING.

10. Disputes

Please contact us first at [email protected]. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute will be resolved by binding arbitration rather than in court, except for small-claims matters and intellectual-property disputes. Class actions are waived. If your institution has a separate agreement with us, that agreement controls where it differs from these Terms.

11. Changes to these Terms

If we make a significant change, we will update the date at the top of this page and tell account holders by email before the change takes effect.
